Visiting UsThe club is located in the west part of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Due to legitimate concerns for the security of club assets the exact location of the club is not shown. To visit us, please contact Fred Mills at: Guests, including well-behaved children, are always welcome to view the OVGRS garden railway, the IPP&W. Normally we just run trains, chat and have fun. Come on along and we may hand you a train to run. Click here to view the IPP&W track plan. You are also welcome to bring your own trains, but please keep in mind that we have no track power and use Kadee couplers. Also parts of the track have 4% grades. Club RulesThis group gets together for fun, fellowship and to operate large scale trains. We do not have an elected executive, constitution, budget or meetings. Membership is free! Click here for our membership list. The easiest way to meet the club members is to join us Saturday morning. If you choose to come out again, consider yourself a Vice President. Operating SessionsEvery two weeks we schedule railroad operating sessions with scheduled trains and a dispatcher. We alternate between standard gauge diesels and narrow gauge steam locomotives. The instructions are kept simple so that new visitors can join in the fun. There is no time clock. Each two man crew is given a layout map with a clearly marked route and switching locations. After switching a location, crews must call the dispatcher on their walkie talkie (provided by the club) to get clearance to the next town. See the railroad operations page for more information Click here for more information on our operating sessions. Comment on this Page Last Modified 5/3/07 4:32 PM |
